About

GregFluryI have been playing the cello for over 15 years. It is my passion and is one of the largest defining factors of who I am.

I participated in the Allegretto Youth Chamber Ensemble, county and district orchestras, and many other various ensembles before moving on to studying cello performance at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College.

Since graduating in May of 2016 I have participated regularly in college and community orchestras around the central PA area including York College Orchestra, Elizabethtown College/Community Orchestra, Millersville University’s Orchestra, Hershey Symphony Orchestra, Gettysburg Metta Chamber Ensemble, and am on the sub-list for the Allegro Symphony Orchestra.

My Approach

My teaching focuses on holistic sensation memorization which will prepare the student for understanding and performing pieces of any ranging difficulty. I emphasize the ergonomically correct way to play to avoid any physical injury.

One of the fundamental factors that structure the progress of my students is the understanding of why rather than how or what. This allows for both rapid improvement and also equips my students with the technical and musical ability to both grasp a musical line and execute it.

When it comes down to it, the music is what matters most and I want to ensure that you are set up for long-term achievement.
